Hi Boris,
You can create categories with help of dimensions eg.
In Navision 3.60/3.70 you may use Item categories and Product Groups to group your items.
Here are some things to keep in mind when you start using them:
- Use both Item categories and Product groups if you want 2 levels of grouping; use Product groups only if 1 level suffices.
- Each Item category may have 1 or more Product groups.
- You can set them up in Inventory, Setup
- Item category may also be used to set default values for your posting groups if there's a link between your categories and posting groups/inventory value method. It may be used - so there's no obligation.
- Each item can have 1 item category and 1 product group. In 3.60 both fields are on the Purchasing Tab; in 3.70 the product group is on the General Tab and Item category on the Invoicing Tab.
Trust this will help you on your way. Good luck!

I'm little late with this reply but thanks for advice. I'm familiar with Item categories and Product groups, but they give me no oportunity to categorizate item in more than 2 levels. So, I made item hierarhy in away that chart of account works. I can set up as many category as I want and even attach one item in few other categories. It works just fine.
