Hi,
Our client is having an issue with the fact of using a new Navision version.
In fact, all users are actually working on NAV 4.0 SP1.
But the installation CD they have recently received is NAV 4.0 SP3.
Last Friday, we had to install Navision on the PC of a new user using the NAV 4.0 SP3 installation CD.
Installation was fine but when we select the database, system requests us to convert the database.
Please note that the client is installed on SQL Server.
How do we proceed?
Please advise.
Thanks and Regards,
Beatrice.

Since the database is based on ver 4.01 then you will have to install this on all clients. For them to use version 4.03 an upgrade has to be done.
All users have to work with the same version.
So if you want to use 4.03 (and you should!), you have to:
1) install the new xp_ndo.dll on SQL Server
2) install all clients with 4.03
3) convert the server with one of the clients (log on with SQL DB Owner).
Hope this helps.

I have some problems in converting form SP1 tp SP3 too. Can anyone give more details?
Are you just trying to convert the executables or you want to upgrade the entire database of SP1 to SP3?
For any queries you can also visit my blog site: http://msnavarena.blogspot.com/
What more details then my post above do you want?
Can you give more details on what is exactly your problem?

Thanks for your help and support.
But as Sabzam mentioned, me too, I need to completely convert Navision SP1 to SP3.
I have referred to the link given by David and it is helpful.
But as I see it is a discussion forum, can we rely on this to perform the upgrade for any versions of NAV? Because I have noted that the following was mentioned: "The text below can be changed or edited.."
I would be grateful if someone could give me a clear and concise description on how to perform this upgrade from NAVSP1 to NAVSP2.
Please note that customizations were performed on the NAVSP1 database.
Thanks and Regards,
Beatrice.
I don't know what official documents to base on, but I did the upgrades a few times myself, also in databases with customizations.
It's just putting your customizations to the new version (SP3), opening your live DB, and putting your new objects into live. You don't have to do a "data"-upgrade.
Off course test this in a test environment first
