I have a question regarding the splitting of a database in two or more physicall databasefiles. (Using the backup and restore operation)

If you have one large table with + 3 million records. Is this table stored in ONE databasefile or is the data spread out over all the databasefiles.

EG.:
Starting situation 1 DB file of 4GB.
Ending situation 2 DB files of each 2GB.
Is the large table stored in ONE of the 2GB files or is it split up?

    Hi,

The data is stored in multiple database name that you specify after your current database is full, when you restore the backup the system would prompt you to expand the datbase and at that point of time you would choose 'Advanced' button and specify the database name where you would like the data to be restored.

    Thanks

But what happens to a very large table?

Is it stored in one datafile or split up over two or more datafiles?
