Hi.
We have just converted one of our customers from Native to SQL. It seems to work fine for most clients, but some are getting this error message when they are trying to connect:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified"
Status-ID: IM002
We are using SQL2005 and NAV4SP3 clients.
I know this is a client problem, but I am not able to figure out what is wrong, or missing (tried to reinstall the client with no success). Does anyone have a solution here?

MDAC should have been installed with the NAV client. You can check in ODBC Administrator to make sure the SQL 2000 ODBC driver is installed (NAV uses the SQL 2000 Driver for SQL 2005 not the new Native Client)

I have got the same problem. SQL Server 2008. Were do I find "Allow Remote Connections?"
Thanks!
I have just had this same sort of issue on SQL2008 / SQL2008R2 and have written a blog post here which might help you
