Our customer is working with Navision 3.70 in a native database.
He wants to upgrade the database to SQL.
This can be SQL 2000 and SQL 2005?
Now I have 2 questions.
- Is it possible to work with Navision 3.70 in SQL 2005?
- If yes, which version is preferred, SQL 2000 or SQL 2005?
Thanks in advance.

You must at least upgrade Navision client.

Is anyone actually running 3.70 on SQL 2005 in a live environment?
I mean I know it works, and I have not seen any problems, BUT is it safe in a production environment.
I know that upgrading is fine, but sometimes the cost can be so high as to just not be worth it.

That's what I am doing locally, and it works fine, but I am wondering if anyone is doing this in a live environment.
I think Microsoft doesn’t support that setup. :-k

I have at least one customer who insisted on doing this upgrade [4SP3 runtime on SQL2005] and it behaves strange somtimes. But this is mainly due tho THE bug. (See no. 2 post all times).
We are working on eliminating the terrible reads on some of the tables and implementing all workarounds we know of. :?
(I advised to move back to SQL 2000).
Thanks Mark, thats what I wanted to know.
