Dear all,

We are about to install SQL2005 SP2, and would like to know whether it's compatible with Axapta 3.0 SP4. I tried to lookup from Microsoft website and no information can found. Can someone help?

Thanks.

Regards,

Ken

    Hi Ken,

According to MS, MS SQL Server 2005 SP2 should work fine with Dynamics Ax 3.0 SP5 and Dynamics Ax 4.0 SP1. Towards this it looks like MS have released official support statements earlier this month though I should say I haven't seen them yet.

    Hi,

It is official now. MS have announced that only Ax3.0 installations which has SP5 / kR3 will work with MS SQL Server 2005 SP2. Please see my blog for the link to this report - http://harish-m.livejournal.com/

    Hi yes it is compatible.
But it will not solve lock problem, compare to SQL 2000
And do not forget about KR
Better use DAX, because it has concurrency model

    Hello Hape,

Ax 3.0 is compatible with MS SQL Server 2005. From my memory I believe this requires at least Kernel Rollup 1 to be installed.

Personally we have been Ax 3.0 / SP4 / KR2 with MS SQL Server 2005 for almost a year now. Works great.
