You only need a standard Navision client, nothing else.
Just connect your server through TCP port 3001 (which is the standard port).
Maybe you must add your servers name and IP-address on the local host file
(\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS))
Check your firewall for opening this port and use only through a vpn.
I checked this solution throug an ISDN Line (a little bit slow) and through DSL (working well).
If you want to do a complete connect to a workstations desktop you can use a tool like vnc (freeware) or the windows terminal services.
we have 65 offices across the USA. We succesfully use Windows Terminal Services (WTS) Remote Desktop Connetion. Works great even on a very slow dial up cennections (I personally tested it on 16kb/s). I just finsihed even more advanced project when people print their checks in other city.
Remote Desktop Connection is one of the methods. However, you may experience the difficulty on exporting HTML file to user's own harddisk (let say user want to save his report in HTML format for further editing). Since all the files will be saved on Navision server's harddisk.
By the way, anyone here has the solution to solve this problem? Can you share with me? Thanks in advance.
Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server natively supports local drive dedirection with use of the latest Remote Desktop Clients (5.1 or 5.2), which can be downloaded here: http://www.workthin.com/tsdown.htm
If using 2000 Terminal Server (w/o Citrix) you either need to use the rdpclip.exe resource kit utility w/ the 5.0.2195 Client or a 3rd party utility like TSDropCopy from AnalogX or WtsFtp, available here: http://www.workthin.com/tsao.htm

You make a VPN connection (or dail-up) to a server, then you can use remote desktop (or cytrix, terminal server) to work on the server.
This construction is used for remote access to a company network. It's not Navision specific.

The default TCP/IP port is 2407!
