[solved]adding fields from diff. tables than the sourcetable

Hello Forum,

I am quite familiar with Navision as an ERP system. Now i have to go deeper into the programming aspects of Navision. I am familiar with the basics of some programming languages (VB, C#), but nevetheless i am very new to the programming language of NAvision (C/al, C-front).

Ok here is my problem:

e.g. I want to add a new field to the Posted Purchase Invoice subform (table no.123). The new field has a different sourcetable. The field should show me the currency code which belongs to the Posted Invoice Main form (table no. 122). I know how to add the field but i don't know how to get the field showing me the currency code.
Please can somebody explain me the steps of the process of displaying field values from different tables than the sourcetable.

Thank you in advance for every useful hint.

Regards,
Lospet

If it is only displaying, you have 2 ways to do it:

    1) create a new flowfield in the table that connects to the field of that second table and you have just to put that new flowfield on the form.

    2) Define a global variable on the second table. In the OnAfterGetCurrentRecord-trigger, you get the table. On the form you put a new field with sourceExpression recSecondTable."The Field".
