Reading Option field values thru ODBC

Hello,
A customer creates his own queries using ODBC on SQL database of Navision (4.02).
So far that works quite well, but for tables with option fields the query only shows the index value of the Option String (0, 1, 2, ...).
Does anybody know where the Option Strings are saved and how I can get them into my ODBC query?
Thanks in advance.

I know in my c/odbc options there is an Option Field Type setting.
Interger or text.
I don't use reg ODBC but perhaps it has something like that?0
