Setting up Production BOM

Dear All Navision Expert:


When setting up Production BOM Navision 4.0, I can choose the type of the BOM component as "Item" or "Produstion BOM". Anybody know what is the difference between the two? And how does it affect the replenishment process?

The help file for the field yielded the following result:

Here you can define the type of production BOM line.

It is possible to select an item or another BOM as a production BOM line. If another BOM is entered, this has the function of a phantom module.

To see the types that are available, click the AssistButton to the right of the field.

    Difference between BOM a Item type:

    Insert a record of type BOM with some Quantity value is the same as you would insert the content of related BOM with quantities multiplied by Quantity value of BOM type line.
    So, generally you can nest the production BOMs up to level 50 (hardcoded "constant"). These nested BOMs are in production components checked and inserted as plain list - structure is lost.
