Can I point the 4.0 client at my 3.60a server? Will it work?
You'll get a message to convert ... and you'll have to convert to this version to be able to open it with 4.0 .
be aware:
- all clients have to run on the same version!
- you have to upgrade the server as well: if you have native: upgrade the database server. if you have sql: upgrade the xp_ndo.dll

Upgrading your version means you have to be current on your enhancement plan. MS double wins.
