Another newbie question..

Hi..

Doing a physical inventory tomorrow. Have created a physcial inventory journal for my Finished goods location. We have many many bins.

Part abc is showing up as being in bin 1, 9, & 17. With say 10 pieces in each. But in reality, part abc is physically only located in bin 9, and has 60 pieces. (we have hundreds of parts just like this...)

Should we just zero out the other bins? Or is there something else to be done?

Also, how can I get zero calc qty to show on the journal?

My reseller is no help (looking for a new one!), and I am new here, and trying to get this inventory working....any help would be great!

Thanks so much!
Kim

I don't know how your warehouse is set up but for the second part of the question...

when you go to Functions-> Calculate Inventory

there should be an options tab. I have a check box that says "Items not on inventory which I check" This might be a mod we did though

    in that case...

It should show zero item if you don't filer on it.
    did you try
"Qty On Hand = 0" in the filter to see if anything comes up?
    or
Item Qty On Hand > -1"

We had a mod that when the Physical Inventory Journal was posted it put a date on the item card in which we called "Date Last Counted". We then could filter on items that have not been counted. Then we could choose which items to exclude from the next day's report. (We have many items and just count 50 a day) but we don't want to count something again that has just been counted...this is where the date last counted filter really comes in handy.

    Just a note:

I'm remembering something of a problem with the phys journal. I think if we went down the list correcting qty's & didn't change a few (because it was correct) when posting it caused the qty from the above item to be put into the "correct qty" item. Which screws everything up.

We have our software people fix this but maybe your's still might have this problem. To get around it just delete the lines of the items that didn't need changing.

    Anyone else have this problem?
