Filling of e-TDS

apsaps Member Posts: 63
when we go to Generate eTDS and run batch job, the system converted a txt format file for e-TDS.
Do we have to copy the file and submit it to the Government autority or any other activity is to be followed to get the e-TDS accepted by the Governmental authority.
please let me know if any other procedure or steps are required....

thnx,
Amanpreet.

Amanpreet, as per the law of eTDS, we have to submit the file in the government recognise format with a particular extension, which is not provided by the Navision. Your client has to take either excel or text file from you which can be uploaded in thier recognised software after validation and then they can generate soft file for their eTDS submission.

This you have to check with the supplier of that government recognised software? The supplier can only help you in this.

Check the latest SP3 hotfix by microsoft for Indian Localization. I think the functionality has been added to directly create the e-tds file.

The procedure of filing Indian E-TDS and its related calculation is too lengthy to be explained in the forum. You can refer to 13701_Statement of TDS_Feature Instructions Guide of HF1 and can then ask your problem if any.

There are file validation software available on the site
    http://www.tin-nsdl.com/eTDSRPU.asp

If your file is validated by the software, you can file the same with the tax authority.

I have implemented it and is running just fine.

    Error/Response File
    C:\Documents and Settings\................\Desktop\eetds.txt

There is a particular utility on the official website of Income tax which checks and convert the text file FBU (not sure of extension) which is then validated and uploaded.
