How can I sort the Phys Inventory Journal?

Hi,

We are doing a physical Inventory. I need to sort the journal by Bin, (the little check boxes in options do not work). My predecssor would run a journal, export the journal to access, sort & run the reports for the shop to use to take phys. inventory, then they would enter the actual counts into an access table, sort the reports the way they were sorted in the journal, and then re-enter the counts into the journal.

This is ridiculous....but.. the reports in Navision are a nightmare, and I am pretty new to it, so if I can't get the sort thing working, this is how it is going to have to work (unless someone can point me in a better direction!)

Thanks for your help!
Kim

You are absolutely right. There is probabaly not 1 report that I found completely useful from Navision right out of the box. Every one needed changing. Having a Picking ticket as well as a Physical Count Journal not print in bin order is just someone not thinking or they wanted the $$$ on Mods.

It's not just printing the Journal list in Bin order, The Journal itself should print in Bin order so when you need to make corrections you can go right down the list instead of jumping arounf trying to find the priper item.

Anyway if you go to table:Item Journal Line
    add a new key:Shelf/Bin No.,Item No.

Then when you go to sort you will see the Shelf/Bin No.,Item No. Choice

Sort it in the journal first then print it. I believe it prints the way the journal looks. I know I modified the the Report but I can't remember all the changes I made.

    your treading on dangerous ground.

    BUT!!

Tools -> Object Designer -> Name(Item Journal Line) [Click Design]

then go to VIEW -> Keys.

Just word of caution never add anthing to the 1st key. Just add a new one at the bottom.
