Hi,

ugg. I have an access database with odbc linked tables to Navision. It is huge... 2G. All of the sudden, when we try to link or import a table, we get an Invalid Argument error message.

It only happens in this database. If i import or link in a new or other existing database...it works. Could it be that it is too big of a database? I tried to compact, but I ran out of virtual memory....(system crashed).

Any other suggestions of things to try.. I have a ton of stuff in this database and do not want to have to recreate it all..

Thanks for any help..
Kim

Please be sure you have the right versions installed.

This means that you can not use ODBC from another Navision verion as the one you are working with.

You can even not install a newer version, then uninstall it again and install the right version. The installation of ODBC leaves some files in the system dir. that are not overwritten when you install a older version.

It's not really the awnser to your questions, but just to bu sure and rule all thing out.

Also check if you are importing columns with a period in the name eg.: "No."

This will not work with the ODBC driver.
Now, let's see what we can see.

Thanks....It was because the file was over 2gig. I imported the files into a new table, and ta-da.. we are all set.

We do have some burbs because C.S. started entering some customers with apostrophe's in the No. field, but other than that...we are back in business.

    Thanks for your help.

2 Gig is not that huge in today's world. You mentioned you crashed and ran out of virtual memory. Did the server crash or the workstation? I find it pays to have a really good server for Navision.

it was the workstation that crashed... I imported everything into another access database, and it works now...

    Thanks
