Hi Yall

I have installed NAS and all is well. Just wanted to know if I can uninstall the server service for NAS SQL like you would do for the database server instead of just disabling it. Thanks again for the Help.
Best Regards

You can use the "unregisterasservice" parameter to unregister it...

Or you can disable it. It's not doing anything if you're not on SQL Server anyway.

Find the NAV product CD, and read the document called w1w1atas.pdf. There is a section in there on how to install and uninstall NAS from a command line. Search the document for Kine's suggested keyword.

Thanks, but you preaching to quire here. I have done that. I always read a manual before I ask anybody anything. I have followed the instructions in the manual but it didn’t work. Before you think I am talking loads of …. The information you referring too is on page 18 of the manual. Been there done that got the T shirt, it doesn’t work. I know you guys like to refer me to the manual but like I said I have been there hence my question on the site. I have to uninstall appl sever and install nas sql. Which won’t help me much anyway. Looks like I will just have to disable it and leave it at that. Thanks for the help though. I guess this time i cant have mny cake and eat it.

I didn't intend to preach anything, I just don't feel like opening the document and paste what I find there. I'm happy to help you out and point you in the right direction, but I am not going to do your research for you. I just happen to know that the command line parameters are spelled out in the NAS pdf, so that's where I pointed you to. Maybe next time you can say 'I already read the manual', so we don't have to waste your time . Just trying to help out man, sorry if you don't like the answers.

I've always been able to remove any service I needed, but I have never had the need to remove either one of the initial services. Either you made a typo, or there might be something about the installation that doesn't allow you to remove any of the two initially installed services.

Well I think if there is only one manual to read on this subject (only one i found on the product CD) I can't see what other research there needs to be done except ask any question about queries on the material I read. But I will spear you the read next time and tell you I have done it already.

I assumed by telling you that I have done a successfull Application Server install that it spoke for itself. Will stick to the manual next time. But thanks for the effort/help budd, it is appreciated.... :)

You'd be surprised at how many people just pop in the cd and install everything without even looking at the options, even people who should know better. Anyway...

Let us know if you find out why it's not letting you remove the service. I'd personally try one more time, to rule out typos (unless you've already tried a few times for that reason :-k ).

And do not forget to specify correct service name when uninstalling the service! 8)

 Got it uninstalled. Thanks again for the help. Typo because the server name is so dam long. Thought I had it right ](*,) . Well so you learn. I have to admit the manual is right. Just have to keep at it till you succeed.

    Syntax is

    NAS applservername=whateversqlservice, uninstallasservice

Either in a batch file or command line where the NAS.exe sits.

=D> It is common that the hardest problems are just some typos or just overlooked line of code...
