Dimension Code Mandatory

Anyone see any harm in copying code mandatory dimensions with no value into the document dimension table when a document is created? I guess another way to look at it is - why don't they get copied in the first place?!

Example: Let's say there is a dimension I setup on a customer that is code mandatory (it must be filled in) but I don't have a default. It's just a piece of data I am requiring of the user. Why is it that when I create a sales order (for example) this dimension code doesn't get copied into the list of document dimensions???

I already found where to adjust the code, I'm just wondering if there is some deeper reason this doesn't happen by default.

Thanks in advance.

No there isn't any reason. Just make sure you have to test at posting that the value is not blank. Navision test the value not being blank at document. You have to do it at the Posting CU 11.

As far as where it inserts the dimension inserted into document It's done in CU 408 DimensionManagement

    The Function is GetDefaultDim

The code My guess that you need to comment is

IF DefaultDim."Dimension Value Code" <> '' THEN BEGIN
