DBMS Cache won't change

I have used a start parameter in the properties of my service, however when I access the DB after restarting the DBMS cache has not increased. Currently set at 28000 would like to increase to 512000. Is there somewhere else that would override my parameter in the service?

I have searched, but came up empty, help apprecieated.

Have you stopped the service, then put CACHE=512000 in the startup parameter and then started the cache from the properties screen?

The DBMS cache you see in client is your LOCAL DBMS cache. It is not the cache on the server...

-DBMS cache is the LOCAL DBMS cache if you are connected to a local DB.
-DBMS cache is the SERVER DBMS cache if you are connected to a server DB.

Yes, it depends on where you are looking for it. On Database Information dialog it is as you wrote, in Tools - Options it is just the local DBMS... Sorry for the lack of decription... 8)

That's the reason we are in more. So we can add information in needed.
How many times you have added info to my replies? I am NOT going to count them. :D

    Kriki,
Yes, Stopped the service, added CACHE=512000, started the service from the properties. Accessed from a client, connected to the SERVER (not direct to the db file), and database info still reflects the old dbms cache size.

The service was installed through DOS using the installasservice command sequence, does that prevent changes from within the mgmt console?

To be sure, you can check the service parameters in registry (HKLM-System-CurrentControlSet-Services-<SERVERNAME>)
