Vista - NAV 4.0 SP2 - PC in presentation mode - Crash

WaldoWaldo Member Posts: 3,412
As you already know, Vista doesn't work with SP3, but it does with SP2.
I'm working for weeks with SP2 now, without any problems.

Last week, I had to give some kind of training, so I put my PC in lower resolution and presentation mode (2 screens), and NAV started crashing on the most odd times... (about 10 times that day).

I don't know if the resolutions or 2 screens had something to do with it, but this is the only difference with my normal "work mode", where I never have problems ... .

Someone experienced the same?

Never had this problem, but I never used NAV 4.00SP2 on my Vista notebook in combination with Projector.

Just one of the Vista's bugs. :)

Most apps crashes in Vista's "presentation mode".

    Ah, not only NAV?

Maybe a stupid question and a bit late anyway, but:
Does somebody know why Nav 4.0 SP2 works quite ok on Vista (I know it's not supported) on Vista whereas the previous versions and also unfixed 4.0 SP3 don't?

    Thanks

Because some change in compilation of the exe file? Who knows, but it is not something what need the answer (may be better is to not know the answer... ;-))

Whit some modification on sqlsrv32.dll, NAV 4.0 SP2 works in Vista, i think you did that modification or sommeone else.. and i belive Vista was updated and the .dll was overwrite.. so now you can't use NAV 4.0 SP2 but probably NAV 4.0 SP3 works..

I know, but I was surprised that it works to some extent with 4.0 SP2. I would never do this in a production environment anyway.
