Hello,
we bought a developer license for our company. When i try to import the license file i am receiving the following message error:
'Your program license does not permit you to run this version of Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision. Please contact your system manager for an upgrade of your license'
I'm not sure if the problem is our Navision version: Navision 4.0 SP2.
How can i get the information for what version my license is. We ask the authorities at our Microsoft Department but there was no answer of them.
Maybe this is a stupid detection but in our license there are a lot of zero entries.
Hope someone can help us. Thanks in advance
Regards,
Lospet

How, exactly, you are trying to import licence?
I do know that there are some differences between 3.x and 4.x version licenses so you should check this first. If you received a text file with licence (and you should receive) there should be lines like this in it:
2,110 Navision Version 3.xx 1
2,120 Navision Version 4.0 1
there are granules that are included into license.
But, we have developer license that has only first line but works with 4.x clients... (though we got them from microsoft as "4.x v. enabled"....0 -
In our license txt file there are no lines that are similar to
2,110 Navision Version 3.xx
2,120 Navision Version 4.0
I am trying to import the license as usual via the Tools- License Information import option.
There are a lot of lines in my license.txt but as i already wrote down almost every line ends with zero (0).
Lines that have no zero value are:
Maximum Database Size......: 131,072
.
.
.
No of Trans................: 2
Maximum....................: 999
License File Version.......: 1.05
.
.
.
No of Purchased Granules...: 2
Perhaps Microsoft send us a corrupt license file??0 -

We are MBS partner.
Looks like they send us an invalid license file. Now we are waiting for an answer from the Local Microsoft authorities.
I will keep you inform about their answer?
i am pretty sure that the problems lies in their file they send us.0 -

Hm... there is something wrong in your file if you have so many zeroes...
in your txt file you can read a License number.
3 numbers are important, e.g.
AA-BB-003-SSSS-3
TT-EE-031-AAAAA-5
This part 003 and 031 are differencing whether it is customers or developers (or demo, or academic, etc...) license...0 -
Our license has the following code numbers:
...004...
what kind of license should it be according to this number ?0 -
Yes, we have send them all concerns we have about the license that we received.0

Today we received finally a developer license from our MS Dynamics partner which is working fine.
The txt file of our license now looks totally different and there aren't any zero numbers.
As i thought, the mistake was at microsofts side and we did everything the right way.
Now we can start working like professionals ;-)
