Navision Timeline

Has anyone ever seen a document that lists the changes from version to version of Navision, from Financials 2.00 to Navision 4? Application Changes and Database Changes, etc. A list of features is not what I want.

The modern version upgrade toolkits have this information, but the older kits don't. I don't want it in detail, just a basic list of what changed on the technical level in chronological order. The move from Static to Dynamic dimensions is an example of a technical change, as was introducing Dateformulas as a datatype, RecordRefs, etc. Getting rid of and introducing new tables and table fields are also part of this.

I think such a document does not exist.

You'll have to look at the changes document which is included in each version, stating the differences comparing to the previous version.

Microsoft Belgium has created a website where one can find the functional differences between versions 2.60 and 4.0: http://www.microsoft.com/belux/nl/dynam ... to300.aspx

The site is only available in Dutch & French though.

Thanks for that, not what I'm looking for but extremely useful non the less. Some of the clients (ES) I have do not have change information in them.

Why can't Microsoft head office produce websites like that. Documentation at times can be shocking.

Probably not enough staff around to answer the questions that pops up. Another reason is that Microsoft officially stopped supporting anything prior to 3.7, so they wouldn't spend the money to get people trained on 2.x.
