Copy and Paste to Excel getting Distorted

Hi,
We're encountering a problem where when we copy a transactional table (table 17 G/L Entry) and pasting it to Excel, the columns and rows gets distorted.
For Example, It'll display:
12/01/06 11180 Cash Transaction - 12/1/06 302,100.21
12/01/06 11180 Cash Transaction - 12/1/06 186,120.32
12/01/06 11180 Cash Transaction - 12/1/06
-311,222.11
12/01/06 11180 Cash Transaction - 12/1/06 -133,100.77
Interesting thing is that I cannot find any reasons on why it would do this. When I copy and paste the values to Notepad, I noticed that it does the same thing there as well.
Anyone know what I should be looking for in order to prevent this from happening? :?:

I never needed to use the Excel Buffer before - but I had a change to play around with some of the downloads today
Mark's demo is so easy to understand

Spent all day on the others - but with this it took 5 mins to change it to Sales Header and I was offand running0 -
Hmm... Not really talking about using Excel buffers.
I'm talking about just using a straight Copy (Ctrl + C) and straight paste (Ctrl + P) from Navision list form to MS Excel.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Try increasing the width of the excel sheet cells more than the maximum field length of the input data.
Just a wild idea 8-[CA Sandeep Singla

I have had this problem before and it has ended up being a special character in the description (such as a tab or the like) which Navision handles OK but will do the appropriate action in Notepad and Excel.
I fixed this by opening the table and manually removing these special characters from the description.0 -
i don't think it's special characters in this case.
Is it just with the g/l table?
i use ctrl-V :-k0 -
Alex Wrotestraight paste (Ctrl + P)
Does Microsoft releases different shortcut keys for excel for different countries. I also uses Ctrl + V for paste. :-k

Is there a way to save the data to txt file and send to a Unix/Linux system? Using "od -c" command can easily identify non-printable char inside a string. I think there is some char in the copy string caused the problem!

I was thinking of paste (P). But yes, Ctrl + V is the paste.
Nonetheless, the problem still exists, and it's not because of special characters.
As far as I know, this only happens on the G/L Entry table.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

I think the problem is caused by the tabs. In which, there's one space that constitutes a separate field, but it's filled in as a tab.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Hi deadlizard,
Try to use special paste (right click the cell and select text special paste)!
Good Luck,
