BLOB dat on SQL are compressed in some way. In this case you are not able to work with the data. But you can disable the compression within Navision in the field properties and after that, you can work with the BLOB in common way on SQL...0

 Where are you able to modify field properties of the Object table?0

Ah, sorry, I didn't noticed that it is about inserting into Object table. I wrote about working with BLOB fields in general.
Answer to garak question: I assume that Celenia is using it in their Version Control, but I do not know...0 -
One thing is "it is possible?" and another "is it safe and working?" - NDT is using another way how to read and store the code into NAV. They are using some loopback network port to communicate between NDT and fin.exe (it is like communication between debugger and NAV)...0

I talked about this with Octocon AG at Convergence EMEA in Munich. They told me there is a API available for Development Partners, which allows you to read/write objects from/to a Navision database.
Shame Microsoft doesn't make this available in the Download area of this site ... it was a candidate winner of the "Best download of 2006" award ;-)No support using PM or e-mail - Please use this forum. BC TechDays 2024: 13 & 14 June 2024, Antwerp (Belgium)0 -

Waldo wrote:If this would be possible, I guess the dev. toolkit would be able to alter code, and import it in NAV, no?

No, actually not. It is just something else. They cannot sell to end customers, just to partners, I think.
I do not know the details, as we're no dev partner ourselves ... :-k
Development partners are those who have developed a special module on Navision...I worked with a company that were partners to a development partner www.printvis.com. They developed a module for the printing industry workflow as an add on module on top of navision.Joseph Abou Nader

I know the OctoCon tool an i've good connections to the two brothers (CEO).
I've tested an version, but this version has some bugs :-(
They would give me an never, bugfixed tool. Hope it work.
But i looking also for alternates.
I've some other ideas, an all these i check.
The same principle that the Octocon tool use, used an old tool of mine.
But my tools not be able for my problems :-(
PS: OctoCon is an partner for MBS-Partners.
Thy create only tools for they. Not for endconsumer

Yes Waldo, they dosn't sell direct to end-users. They sell to partners and they use there tools or sell it to there customers.Do you make it right, it works too!0
