The OS Win2k3 server is required for Employee Portal installation. Is the OS must be a domain controller???

No I don't believe it has to be, but must be connected to one when you set up the users, so it can valdiate authentication.

Thanks, I was worried about it since my machine is not a Domain Controller.

It does if you want SSO (Single Sign-On). Otherwise, it's enough to setup regular windows users on that win2k3 server and to add them to NAV through client that is installed, again, on that server.

    And it's working, i tried.

I am concerned about it becuase I have installed the Win2k3 and all the required things for Employee Portal. There I have created a local user NEP_User and assigned to the NAS Log On. The machine is not a domain controller. But i a facing a problem that I am not able to see the page in sharepoint services and IIS Default. Everything is in my same machine regarding Employee Portal. I am login to this machine with my Window login ID assigned by my company I am working with and that also I have created in Navision with super rights.

Have you add a NEP_user that you've created on win2k3 to navision?

yes I have also Created that on in Navision.
Can you please tell me what is the role of NEP_User or instead of NEP_User If I write New_User then what will happen.
I mean to say does this NEP_User is validating with some code NEP_ or it I have to login with this userid to see the web page. My this point seems to be meaningless as there wll be many webusers(=windowlogin).

I strongly suggest to read a w1w1ep.pdf which you can find inside Doc folder on navision installation CD.
For each Navision Application Server that you install, you must set up a user profile.
The names of Navision Application Servers are generated during installation.
    To create a local user:
1 On the Start menu, click Administrative Tools, Computer Management.
2 Under System Tools, expand Local Users and Groups.
Right-click Users and select New User. You can now create a new local user. Name it,
for example, NEP_user. Assign the user to the appropriate groups.

You create a user account under wich you will start NAS service.
    No more, no less.

Apparent from this, you have to add to win2k3 server and navision (or just navision if you have an Active Directory up) users that will be connected to navision through EP.

Please, read document that I mentioned before thoroughly.

You can create local users though, it doesn't HAVE to be in a domain.

    Thanks all.
I have gone through the pdf also.
I want to know that what is the role of NEP_User assigned as a local user in a machine which is not doman and where Nav Server,NAS and CLient is also installed with different window login. Simply assigning the NEP_user will do the things necessary for implementing the EP.
