Adjust Cost - Item Entries

Hi,
Currently, I tried running the batch job Adjust Cost - Item Entries for a customer. However, it takes very long to run this job. It seems to be stuck at an entry no. 51191 and the Adjmt. Level has increased to more than 8537000. I have tried to rerun the job again but it will be stuck at the same entry no. again.
In Inventory setup, the field Automatic Cost Adjustment is set to Never. Hence, the batch job will have many entries to adjust. What I don't understand is why it keeps looping for a particular entry no. and is unable to complete.
Can anyone advise on why this occured and how i can resolve this issue?
Thanks lots.
Cheers,
Liyan

There was a bug in older version that causes it to loop infinitely. See which service pack or improvements fixes this issue.0

it could be problem of entries, which are applied to each other. Simetime it can be problem of cr. memo which was applied to sales, and the sale was applied to the cr. memo... :-)0

and with transfers too... for example, ona shipment inbounded to one location then partially transfered to another location, then transfered back to first location and then transfered fully to another location...
sound complicated to understand even in words... image how is it to calculate actual costs

Hi,
I found a solution from the Knowledge Base in Microsoft website.
This problem occurs when the Cost is Adjusted check box on the Invoicing tab is not selected on an item card and this item card has a blank No. field.
The resolution is to delete this item with blank No. field.
I have tried it out in the customer database and it works! The job just took about 2 hours to complete and does not hang.
Thanks for all your input.
Cheers,
