Object file wizard (Online help)

KaidoKaido Member Posts: 23
Hello,

I have a problem with Object File Wizard to create object.txt. When I select the file w1.txt that I have exported from MS Business Solutions Navision 4.0 the Object file wizard give me the next error:

"The select file has not been extracted from Navision Financials"

I am using Object File Wizard v.1.07 (It's contained in Navision’s (v4.0) CD).

What other alternatives I have to create object.txt?

Thanks.

There can be localization issues - you need to be sure that exported file is english (for example, if you are exporting objects into txt file, you need to have ENU fin.stx in client folder). - e.g. there is Version List, Modification, Yes/No and not localized names...

Right now, I am not sure, but is the wizard using object text file or translation text file? (I cannot find the documentation for the wizard right now...)

I created W1.txt file exporting the object from Navision in format txt. After, I use Object File Wizard to convert W1.txt file into the object.txt file.

But the Object File Wizard give me that error.

    1) In my opinion you need to export translate file to use it with the wizard.
    2) You can do it through opening object designer, selecting the objects and useing Tools - Translate - Export. This file you can than use in the wizard.

It's ok, common mistake, many people do not know about the Translate-Export function at all... :-)

And please, could you add [SOLVED] tag into the subject? Thanks...
