Problem with Order Promising

Hello

Wondering if anyone has had the same problem i have had recently when using Order Promising.

I have set up a simple manufactured item that has its replenishment set as Prod.Order and two lower level items with replenishment set as purchase with a lead time of 1D. Prod.BOM and Routing set up as normal.

Raise a sales order and then click Order-Order Promising. Calculate-Capable-to-Promise. System gives me a date. Accept date and then run Planning Worksheet. Suggestions shown are New Prod.Order and two line for the purchase of each of my lower level items. The problem is that the system is suggesting that i should of ordered the goods two days ago and is not saying order them today/tomorrow so production is scheduled to begin before the purchased items arrive in stock..... HELP!!!!

I have checked through set up i.e. order promising offset time and manufacturing safety lead time. Have also looked at warehouse handling time etc but with no joy.
