Hi All, I have a problem. Could anybody help me?
When we create an invoice (i.e. purchase invoice) in foreign currency, the amount in the line amount field is shown in the currency we chose at the purchase invoice header or from the vendor card. And when we post the invoice the purchase amount and vat amount is recorded in local currency in the g/l entry and the exchange rate was taken from the currency exchange rates table from the exchange rate amount and the relational exchange rate amount field.
But what I want is the vat amount exchange rate is not taken from that field. How do I get the vat exchange rate to be different from the rate of the purchase & A/P amount? I read the help on navision and it said that the settlement rate amount is used for the government tax. How can I use this field? When does or in what condition the vat amount rate uses the settlement rate / relational settlement rate amount field from the currency exchange rate table?
Or maybe there is another field on the currency exchange rates table that I can use for the VAT rate?
Regards,
Albert.
Thank You.

When you create a purchase invoice in a foreign currency you shouldn't have VAT in the first instance.
When you receive your goods the importer usually sends you an invoice and also charges customs (VAT) which you pay in LCY. This would be 100%VAT and will be recorded in GST_Entry Table for your VAT Settlement.
Maybe you could be a bit more specific?
