How to count records in sub-dataitems in a report?

Hello everybody,
Imagine this:
Having a parent data item and some indented data items below it in a report. The user can put filters on any data item. What I would like to do is this:
If in any of the child (indented) data items no records exist (ie filtered out) then the report should print no pages at all. Is this possible?
Thank you in advance...
