Deleting Unused Roles

Hello. We've been talking about deleting all the "standard" Navision user roles, since we don't use them anyway. (Except for "all" of course.) Is there any down side that you know of to getting rid of those roles? I would think it would really speed up the synchronization process…
Thanks for you help,
Kevin

It will not speed up the synchronization process.
The synch process since 4.00 is completely redesigned, creating a role per user and attaching that role to a table (or something like that). this means, when synching all users, it has to synchronise quite many records (number_of_users * number_of_tables).
In 4.00 SP3, this has been "solved" ... there is a new security model named "standard".
All you should do is do a runtime upgrade to 4.00SP3, and change from "enhanced" security model to "standard" security model (in the "alter database"-form).0 -
Thank you both very much for all of your help.
We will just leave them alone as you suggest.
Thanks again.0 -
If you really want to speed up sync process, upgrade the clients to sp3 and change the security model to standard, this will move the security model back the way it was in 3.7. Synchronization will take a few seconds.0
