No. No incremental or transaction-log backups exist in Navision.
The only backup possible in Navision is a full backup (or per company).

There is a 3rd party tool. Expandit that allows scheduling of backups.

You can take a look at Cobian Backup. It is pretty nice and also free: http://www.educ.umu.se/~cobian/cobianbackup.htm

    Hi ara3n,

Is this true for SQL option? I have a scheduled SQL database/log backup everyday and once a week manually Navision backup by company. Can you give me the name of the product to help schedule Navision SQL option backup.

Yes you can use expandit it for sql as well. One of our client used it and they were using both sql as well as Navision backup. Navision does additional checking when it backups the db.

There is no reasons to make Navision backup if you're running NAV on SQL Server.

What I found out one thing I like with Navision backup by company is the capibility to move the database from one to another. I have to move Navision databse from server to server in the past 4 years using Navision. I was so lucky everytime to have the Navision backup by company. I installed SQL; ran necessary updates; install Navision run time; create the Navision DB with new settings; restore the database using Navision backup and I am done. I also use it to move database to PCs for testing. I guess I kind of having a Toy and I just make it part of my recovery strategy.

    Thanks,
