Upgrade to 4.0: Error in script?

We noticed something strange:
In 3.01, you have table 81 (Gen. Journal Line) with field 22: Sell-to/Buy-from No.
In 3.70, you have table 81 with field 22: Bill-To/Pay-To No.
In 4.00, you have table 81 with field 22: Bill-To/Pay-To No. AND field 118: Sell-to/Buy-from No.
The upgrade scripts keep everything in field 22, but we noticed (after reviewing the code) that the code behind takes field 118. Somebody knows the logic behind this?
