Dear frens,
Here is the problem..
For my company database I have created the datebase login user ids and assingned the roles and permissions. To that extent it is OK.
Now the requirement is, when a particular user enters with his/her user id, he/she should only see that data relating to that particular user's location or branch.
In detail..
Actually here we have 20 locations and for every location one user id has been created. Now when a particular user logs on with his/her user id, then he/she should only see the data relating to that particular location or branch. Also in the transfer orders, some of the fields like trasfer-from-code, branch code, location code must show that particular user's location, branch information and even the previous transfer orders list should be pertaining to that particular location or code. I would be very thankful if I cud get as many suggestions as early as possible.
Thanks & Regards in advance..

Hi,
I guess you should take a look at the functionality regarding the "User Setup" and the "Sales Resp. Ctr. Filter" field.
When a sales form opens it makes an automatic filter to show only the sales headers for that particular responcibility center. It also fills in the that info on the form when the user creates a sales header. Look in the OnOpenForm of sales order and you will understand what happens more or less...
There is also some functionality on the Warehouse Employees which keeps the Location the user uses, but i don't know how extended that is, I think it is not extended at all...
I hope I have helped a bit...0 -
ThanQ Mr.Arhontis for Ur reply..
But my major concern is regarding Transfer orders. As there is availablilty for sales and purchase orders in user setup functionality, that security has been done. For now regarding the Transfer Orders, the issue is like this..
When an user enters with his User ID and when he starts doing Transfer Orders, now in the Transfer Order form, the field Transfer-from-code should fill in with the location belonging to his location by default and that should be non-editable, in the similar way the branch code field also, and he should see the transfer orders relating to his location or branch only hen he goes to orders list.
And regarding sales and purchase orders, to the extent of header, the resposibility center is made default but its not taking the branch code default and also in the lines te system has to show the location code default. I believe I get the Solution.
Thanks & Regards..Dilip

Hi,
I understand what you want and I recommended that specific functionality that exists in the sales as an example of how you could implement it on transfer orders. It is not that difficult to implement, since a field in the users setup table about the user location code and some code in the OnOpenForm of the Transfer Order form would do the trick...
It is my pleasure to be of help...
Good luck...
