Yes, it is the last event I will be doing this year.

I'll be there together with David Singleton, helping Microsoft at the ATE booths.

Anybody else comming?

This is a great event to expand your knowledge of other Microsoft products like SQL server, Office and Vista.

Date: 14 - 17th of November, Location Barcelona, Spain. 8)

It will also be a good oportunity to find out why they pulled Navision from Tech Ed, but kept CRM and Axapta. That seems odd to me.

I had originally submitted a presentation session, but then they changed the schedule and said they didn't feel that "navision" sessions were needed. Personally I think its the most important question this year.

Be sure that Mark and I will keep you all informed.

From some comments I have read here recently it seems to me they're putting Navision in a backwater :-k

Please do not start to gossip about this. All is going very well with Navision!!!

It is only a budgetary thing, they expect most people interested in Navision and willing to travel to come to Convegence, that's all.

Well, this is the main reason why i'm going to Convergence instead of TechEd. Hopefully this is a good decision

    I agree with Mark.
I feel a great demand (if you look at our pipeline) and much work is putted into the development of 5.0, so imho, no need to panic.

same amount of work is put into next GP and AX. They both will have the new UI. There is a demo for GP that looks exactly like next NAV.

Hm, not enough for me. If I look at the specialised session list for Dynamics NAV at Convergence ... could become very interesting.

Yes if you can only go to one, then Convergence is the one to go to.

Well I haven't seen those comments you mention, but I am pretty sure they are wrong. Navision is being pushed heavily by Microsoft right now. I think we will see now that CRM and Axapta are now "stable environments", and now the big push will be for Navision, but as I said we will see soon.

Personally I believe great things are on the way for Navision.

I'm not sure if they're pushing a specific platform. Most of the public advertising I've seen is for "Microsoft Dyanmics".

Nowhere in the ad does it mention it has 4 product lines for ERP.
  • David_SingletonDavid_Singleton Member Posts: 5,479
Sorry I did not mean public advertising. Its logical that Microsoft need to push Dynamics as a brand, and not the individual products. I am talking about internally. The last presentation I saw (at an MVP event) for Dynamics was all about all the great new stuff they are doing for Navision.

My take on this is that all the products are being pushed, but not all at the same time (and this week its Navision  ). From what I am allowed to say, its very clear that none of the products are going to be left behind. Only good things are ahead.

If one product is being left behind it's Solomon... (Not that I care or anything  )
  • David_SingletonDavid_Singleton Member Posts: 5,479
Not at all. Solomon is the main push in Jobs and Project managment industries, and is (IMHO) the reason that Microsoft have alted all fixes to Navision Jobs. IN Green Jobs will be from Solomon.

You just need to get in a room with a Solomon User that uses JObs, to gguess that it must be pretty good.

From my point of view, Microsoft is treating all Microsoft Dynamics products as one. The issue is that the products apply to different kind of businesses, and each one is powerfull based on the business requirements needed. As Microsoft's road map shows...in 2008+ the next wave will be a combination of all the dynamics products!! How we will deal with that  .?
