Error 401.2 at default.aspx page

I have just installed EP using the Cronus database. I followed the instructions on the CD with no errors. All services are running. The instructions say to launch website http://localhost/default.aspx. When I do this, it returns an authentication error.
HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Everything in IIS is default settings.

you have to configure IIS pool user to have read permissions to the EP folder.0
