item tracking with assembly BOMs

when using an assembly bom can the components be item tracked, if yes then how do you select an item to be consumed when posting a BOM journal

it can be tracked if you use manufacturing, on bom journal, components cannot have serial or lot no., unless you make a modification.
Future version might have this functionality.
