Hi,

I installed NAS 3.70 fo a 3.70 Navision database server on windows 2003 server for a customer. NAS was installed for ADCS.Every day, between 9 and 10 o'clock, the service not responding. There is no event log message. The customer must restart the service and all is ok. In the office I try few test but I won't be able to stop the NAS service.

Have you go any idea ?

    Hey,

Are there users using the ADCS when this break occurs?

Go to the server room. Make sure the cleaning crew isn't pulling the server's plug when they vacuum. If you think I'm joking, check this out:

BTW : you can use a PSKILL (www.sysinternals.com) + restart of the NAS in a command file to kill the NAS and then restart it.

    I liked that story.

We had something similar. A client rang the help desk early one morning and complained that the Navision system wouldn't work. Our consultant went through various things to check and eventually came to the conclusion that there was something wrong with the server. The client became a bit irate saying he had put the server in and there was nothing wrong with it. Eventually he decided to go away and check.

Some time later he called back. He had gone down to the server room and found that both of his servers had been stolen ](*,)

If you have several nas services running on one machine, then you will have to be sure which process you want to kill. If you build an automation in .NET, there is a way to find the link between a specific service and a process. This is something we had to solve when building the NAS Scheduler. If you need help with this, I can give you more information about it ...
