I'm trying to use the Revaluation Journal to revalue the ENTIRE inventory value of one item. I don't want to choose a past ledger item to correct which is all I can seem to do. All I want is to take for example:

If I have four items in inventory at a value of $1000, but I want the overall value to equal $100. So how do I get Navision to let me adjust the TOTAL inventory value or is it not possible? Please help someone!!

Insert a new line in reevaluation journal Select the item. Scrol to the right ans select Applies-to Entry do a lookup select the items Ledger entry you want to revalue. AFter you've selected the value change the "Unit Cost (Revalued)"

Repeat this for the entries you want to reevalue.

    Post the journal.

I don't want to revalue a specific entry. I want to revalue the overall value of the inventory. Maybe revaluation journal isn't the way to do it but i don't know another way.

Under function Calculate Inventory, you can calculate per inventory.

okay i tried that and i get this weird error message about the filter being wrong but i didn't put a filter on anything. See below. Do you know what that means? I'm new to Navision so I'm so sure what I'm doing!!

    Microsoft Navision Attain
The filter 'BB1225-AL (2 CONE)' is invalid.

You entered an invalid expression in the filter on the Item No. field in the Average Cost Adjustment table.

For information about entering filters, see the online Help.

    OK

It is objecting to the brackets in the item no. you are using. Navision uses brackets for filtering and it is interpreting 'BB1225-AL (2 CONE)' as filter criteria instead of an Item No.

Ideally the primary identifiers in Navision should only be letters, numbers or dashes '-'.

Try renaming the item - This should then work.
