Hello,
I has a problem in the network.
With some Clients the following error message comes when starting of Navision. This message appears occasionally.
Navision version 370A the error message means: The network does not work perfectly. A package was damaged (check-sum errors).

The server has NT4 SP6 as operating system.
The Client concerned is at the same SWITCH as the server.
The Client has Windows 2000.

Make sure you run TCP and not TCPS on both server and client, I think this might be the problem.

Have you checked the switch? Do they experience more network problems with other apps?

    Could be serveral things.

    1. Bug is the 3.70.A executables, you could try 3.70.B which is a little more stable. (4.0 and later executables are only supported on Win2k and later)

    2. The NIC on the Navision server could be going bad. You may just want to replace it as NIC's are dirt cheap

    3. Network issues that pop-up in Navision may not be noticable in other network apps such as Exchange because Navision is a HUGE user of network bandwidth. I seem to remember a "Network analyzer" tool put out by Navision you may want to search for that and run it.

    4. Could be a quirky DNS issue, you may want to trying putting a host file entry on each workstation for the Navision server.
