NAS Error 1068

coreypowercoreypower Member Posts: 5
I am trying to re-start a NAS having changed the userid and am getting the following error message:

Error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start

I have confirmed the permissions and setup of the new NAS user and there does not appear to be any dependancies in the properties of the NAS. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance
Corey

    Maybe the NAS is a dependencie of another service. But it is strange anyway.
    I would try to de-install and re-install the service.

    You can check the dependencies on the last tab of the Service property dialog.

    On the Dependencies tab for the NAV Server I had "Net. Tcp Port Sharing Services".

    Looking in the Services list a bit further I found this service was disabled.
    I simply set it to Automatic, start the service and found I could start the NAV Server.

    All good.

    You can check the Dependencies Tab on Service or you check it in the registry
    -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ SERVICENAME -> DependOnService

    also check the EventLog, maybe there are more informations
    Do you make it right, it works too!
