Ms Nav SQL Server Option Installation n Configuration

BeatriceBeatrice Member Posts: 346
Hello,

I have read the installation and configuration manual but plz can anyone confirm is it what is said that :

on server side to install only SQL Server with extended stored procedure added to it. My question is it not necessary to install complete client navision installation on the server?

On client side to install SQL Server Option for Microsoft Navision(finsql.exe). Is the Minimum client Microsoft Navision installation meet requirement on client side?

Thx for prompt reply.

Rgds

On server you don't need to install the client.

On the cient machines you only need to install client. finsql.exe. Nothing else.

But in general it is a good idea to install it anyway.
    E.g.
-If the NSC has to do some work on the server and they also want to open Navision, at least they don't need to go to another PC.
-If some process is slow on a client PC. Running it on the server is a lot faster.

    1) Yes, just MS SQL + xp_ndo.dll
    2) Yes, just minimal config.
