Restore into SQL2005 doesn't include Appl. Objects

RicovskiRicovski Member Posts: 2
Hi people,

I have a funny situation; when performing an ENTIRE backup from a native database and trying to restore this backup into SQL, only the TableData and Tables are restored. Also, there is no option to select Application Objects on the restore form. When using the same backup file in another SQL installation or native database, everything is fine and I have the option to restore Application Objects or not.

The above points directly to SQL2005. Does anyone have an idea what the reason could be for not restoring Application Objects?

Many thanks,

Rico van Zyl

Probably it is because some object (not the standard Navision) already existed in the SQL2005-DB.

You'll notice that when we do a restore, the restore application objects check box is not selected -- worse still, its uneditable. To do the full restore you first restore as usual, then, go to the object designed, and import all the application objects.

Why? I think its just a bug.

In this way:the beautifull thing is: you don't need to make a fob of all objects.
Open the object designer, select File=>Import and select the backup-file. Navision will then consider the .fbk-file as a normal .fob-file.
