Piece Rate Payroll

I have a manufacturing prospect that pays their individuals by the piece produced. Each employees has a different "piece rate" based on their ability and what job they are performing. Some have said this could be set up in payroll as a controll and some have recommended jobs and resources. Has anyone dealt with this issue?

Yes, I have set up piece rates in payroll but our payroll system is total customization.

We use nothing in native navision, except check journal.
Partially as have some employees, salaried, hourly, piece rate and then to further compound some move from being piece rate to hourly within pay period and/or over time.

Also, where are you/client? - need to be carefull regarding piece rates and min wage laws depending upon your jurisdiction.
Personal philosophy:
Client business can pay whatever they want and employees will take, but I will not write code that does not follow tax/wage laws.

The client is a sheltered workshop so the rules vary for each disabled employee. We were able to set up a pay control which allows for 1 piece rate per employee and we can enter in the number of pieces the same way you would enter hours in the time journal. The problem is that the clent would like to have multiple piece rates per employee and have that rate trigger based on what dimension, job, task, work type, etc. that they are entering in the time journal. We will need to code some sort of matrix/grid to make that happen.

That is way we went with a customization.
I really did not get into standard NF payroll as our reseller said it woiuld not do what we need and best route was from scratch/customization.

nameley we wanted to change pay method for employees, from hourly-pice rate and/or if pice rate,have the rate vary based upon job type/category etc.
