Hello.
I’m an admin who administrate a windows 2003 server with Navision Attain 3.10A installed.
The installation is using the normal build in database (not SQL)
Is there any way that I should optimize the database, should I do any maintenance things other than hotcopy-backup?

The other day I needed to expand the database, but it would be nice to now if there is any cleaning methods instead (using unallocated space, like an ordinary SQL db for example)

    File-> Database-> Information-> Tables -> "Select Tables" ->Optimize

    I don't know your DB size but if this is your first time it will take some time.

    You can do a little at a time if you wish.

    Also you will need some DB space - what us your DB perecntage used?

    also if you search "optimize" these should be a bunch of posts

    check "optimise" too just in case there is a spelling error in the post headings.

    The size is 1GB
    80% used

    Does the optimize give me more space or performance...or both?

    It will definately give you more space - but your DB is very small even if was to give you a perfomance increase you probably would notice any difference. Unless you can notice milliseconds.

    Are you experiencing performace problems?

    No not really.
    But i just want to make sure that it is in good condition.

    Is there any other things that would be nice to do, to keep up the condition on the DB ?

    the Native datsbase server really take care of itself - when I get to 85% I usually optimize to get it back down. but that's about it.
