Use (for example) Forehelp to make your helpfiles. When you are saving your project in forehelp, make sure you made a map and save it as a HH-file. Check the existing fin1.HH file to know how it looks.
When you are ready with the helpfile:
Rename your fin2.hh -> fin3.hh and fin2.hlp -> fin3.hlp.
Rename your new helpfile.hlp -> fin2.hlp and your helpfile.hh -> fin2.hh
We use HelpScribble to create the Helpfile(s). That's an easy to use, inexpensive Help Authoring Tool (see www.jgsoft.com for info and download).
In addition to that, we have persuaded the author of HelpScribble to make a small additional program that generates the *.HH file (kind of link between the object-ID and the Help-topic) automatically in the correct format for Navision, including aliasses to connect multiple objects to the same Help-topic. HelpScrNavision is available on request from the HelpScribble guys, but we are allowed to give away copies too (not of HelpScribble, of course).
Because the way Navision is dealing with the Help system is not quite obvious for everybody (to say it friendly...), we made a "how-to do it" description. If you would like a copy of that document, just send me a mail (jtegelaar@duolink.nl)
