Client-Server connectivity

I am trying to connect Client - Server(native database)
Getting error
The TCP/IP connection's host is not answering.
You can see how to make changes to your 'hosts' and 'services' files.
Anyone knows about this.

Dear Upasandip,
You arefacing the same problem as I've seen in this forum posted by Andreas Gunawan.
He said he had the answer, you can check by suing this link I copied from his posted message:

Thanks Johnson, I have changed my hosts file on c:\windows\system32\driver\etc folder & given path of server IP address & server name
as follows
129.168.1.1 abc.corp.xyz.com

Now it is working fine
