Dividing Local Currency by 1000

xchildxchild Member Posts: 22
Recently, just a few hours ago, I was informed about changes in monetary policy that have resulted in me having to find an elegant way to divide every value stored in Navision local currency fields by a 1000.

Is there a tool I can use to help me do that?

I need to do this for all my clients.

In Europe we used the Euro Conversion Tools when we turn from local currency to Euro. perhaps your NSC could contact MBS to get this tools.

Well, the requirement is that all amounts be converted to the new pseudo currency, the currency is not changing name, but it has been valued a thousand times higher so that there would be less zeroes showing on prices etc (inflation is around 1000% here!). New notes have been introduced as well.

From a Navision point of view all old transaction amounts must be in the new currency as well, meaning the amounts have to be divided by zero.

The Euro conversion tool sounds interesting, I don't know if the scenarios are similar?

If you use the Euro Conversion Tools, you hav to create a new currency with the rate in the currency table , so you will be able to print everything using the new or the old currency.

The conversion rate is not a problem while 1 Euro cost 1936.27 Italian Lire for Example.
