Hi All,
I am doing an implementation for one of our clients. I have a few questions.
1. Is it posible to receive items without a Purchase Orders ?
2. Does NAV provide the facility of transferring items within same site. I mean transferring with different quantity types
ex : Transfer of an Item from Quarantine Stage to OK Stage based on the approval of Quality
NB : The customer has not bought Quality Module
3. Is it advisable to add amount fields in the WareHouse Receipt.
For Ex : The ware house receipt does not hold fields like Amout (Basic Cost * QTY),Frieght,Misc,Tax etc....The client is very much interested in all these.

1. Yes. You can use the item journal for it.
2. Yes, you can create an extra location code "QUARANTINE" and receive all in it. You can use normal transfer orders or with the item reclass journal to transfer from QUARANTINE to the normal location code.
3. This is because it has no sense. the warehouse receipt/shipment is for receiving/shipping the goods by the employees. In theory they should not know the value of the goods.
But I think it is possible to add the amount fields. But you will need to write that code. You might also use some flowfields to the purchase order where the info is. With this, the information is always up to date.Regards,Alain Krikilion

Respected Sir,
Thank you so much for your advice. I am very much a fresher in Microsoft Navision. I was into Microsoft Great Plains for allmsot 2 years , now that I have been into Navision.
Can you please suggest which is the best way to start off working on Navision Coding, as I am finding it a bit different from other coding methodology. I means is there a guide to start (Great Plains Has One ) with .
Please advice.

Start with "w1w1adg.pdf". You can find it in the documents directory on the Navision Installation CD.Regards,Alain Krikilion
