    Hi,

For installing Business Analytics you should have the Analysis Services of SQL with service pack 3 or more.

You Follow the following guide lines to install the BA.

1.Create the cubes in Navision. If you dont want to create then for demo purpose you can import the fob file from BA_Fob folder from CD the table no 700.

2.Start the BA CD or setup, select the server install the basic version of it.

3.Open the BA overview in Navision look up the database (which will be default is you imported fob) selct the active and in the path to configure give the path BA Configurator.exe where u installed the BA.

    4.Now Function--->update xml
Again Function---> start Configurator, after starting this it will ask for password which is ur SQL password.it will start configurator and take some time (You Will be lucky if u dont get any error if u get then do let me know).

5.After this instal the advance version of this from the server option only.It will install the client.

6.Now start configure BA Advance it will ask for the license give the path where ur license is there.or give the path to the client folder where the Navision is installed.

After successful completion of this you can use BA.If there is some error you face then you can post here..

    So All the best

Do let me know wether u r successful or not.

Thx, everything's great. I have installed MS SQL 2000, MS SQL 2000 Analysis Services, Service Packs for both, MS SQL 2000 Option for Navision and Navision Client. I had some problems importing Cronus database to MS SQL Server, but I've done it. I've created a cube, run configurator and BA. When I've tested BA, my notebook crashed :-(. And I must wait until it'll be repaired.

In Business Analytics Enterprise maneger .
    Can u ceate new database?
When i want to do it that option is desible?
I think it is problem of BA License.

No, I can't. I don't agree with you about the problem of BA license, because I have the developer license and it's the biggest one. But what I'm sure is that i don't know waht the problem is, but sure not the license. If you get something, tell me please.

Standard NFR license includes granules for BA. Users needs BA Basic granule for using the Navision part (creating cube) and BA Advanced to be able to use ANTServer (BA Server and client).
  • ycobosycobos Member Posts: 9
And do you know which are the numbers of that granules?? I think the basic one is 7020 and the advanced is 7021. Is that rigth???

Did you manage to export a BA database from NAV and import it to another NAV database? I would like to just backup my BA database created in NAV and to be able to import it back again but the standard XML export/import does not work. It actually does not do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Do not mix XML Export/Import with transfering data between NAV tables. It will just transfer the XML with cube description and after importing it into other DB and running configurator, same cube will be created. You cannot run "Update XML" in this case because there is nothing from which can the system update the XML. The whole string is:

NAV Tables -> XML -> Configurator -> Cube

Transfering the XML will do just the rest of the chaing. You need to create Dataport for the BA tables if you want to transfer NAV cube definition.
