Adjust Cost does not stop

Hi

I am working on Navision 4.0. No service packs are installed. Recently I had a case where the Adjust cost ran nonstop.
Things I discovered:
1) Users had created BOMs where the finished goods was also one of the components. They have since modified those BOMs.
2) I tried deleting all the entries in 5804 but the Adjust cost still ran non stop.

Anyone has any idea what to troubleshoot for? Or has a similar experience?

Are your items setup as average cost? Normally for produced items in manufacturing, Average cost does not make sense. I'm saying this is because you mentioned that youd deleted Avg. Cost Adjmt. Entry Point table. When Adjust cost runs in infinite loop. You need to record what entries it is looking at. and you need to look how the items have applied against each other. Also you can try to make a backup and restore it locally and load the SP1 and SP2 and then run adjust cost. See if that fixes it.
The table that will help you identify how the items are applied against each other is the Item application table. One thing you should not do delete any records. Avg. Cost Adjmt. Entry Point is used to record the date an average cost was calculated for an item.
